Tom Keifer – 06/25/2022

Having never seen Cinderella in their heyday I was looking forward to this show.  Not a huge fan but do own Night Songs and have always liked their influences that they wore proudly on their sleeves.  Their blend of blues based rock heavily dosed with 70’s Aerosmith and the Stones was always appealing.  Tom Keifer has long since been a solo act and he showed up to Houston’s Warehouse Live with a robust band.  Billed as the headliner for a package combined with LA Guns and LA’s Faster Pussycat this was pretty much a no brainer to check out.

Out of the gates they played their own material Touching the Divine combining their soulful background singers as well as Keifer’s gritty touch.  Throughout the set they combined their own material like It’s Not Enough and Solid Ground with Cinderella hits.  The band is super tight and their drummer Jarred Pope is excellent.  Highlights from the Cinderella portion included; Night Songs, Coming Home and Shelter Me.  Night Songs was the heaviest with some killer Les Paul playing from Keifer.  The more Stones tinged Coming Home and Shelter Me were my personal faves as they highlighted the band’s tightness and melodic abilities.  Recommend checking these guys out if you can as they like Tesla are way beyond the ‘hair band’ tag they get branded.
