Signs of Life

Local Houston band Vital Signs headlined the Bellaire Music Festival on a chilly Saturday night.  They finally took the stage after the snore fest of bands before them especially the preceding act of old timers who stammered through classic rock songs and played way too long.  Vital Signs didn’t get on till after ten.  When they did they stormed the stage bringing some much needed hard rock and energy to the festival.  Highlights included; Tush, Mr. Brownstone, Truth and Killing in the Name.  Truth was a debut of an original song that combined elements of progressive rock with various time changes and some virtuoso playing by all members.  Their closing version of Killing in the Name included an intro version of Zeppelin’s Kashmir which fit perfectly and cleverly fooled the audience.  Their Rage version was aggressive, loud and to the point especially after this band got screwed by their late start and having to end early due to the local noise ordinance.

Be sure to catch Vital Signs at a venue sometime.
